About Fletch

I was born a baby in Natchitoches, La., whenever I was just a few moments old. On the day I was born, the nurses all gathered ‘round. They gazed in wide wonder at the joy they had found. The head nurse spoke up and said “leave this one alone.” She could tell right away that I was bad to the bone.

My family and I lived in the metropolis of Coushatta, La., until I was about five, then moved to the euphoria that is Leesville whenever I was in first grade. I completed fifth grade there, started sixth, then we headed to Winnsboro, La., where my brother and I graduated from Franklin Academy. My mom is the still the Vice Principal there. That’s right, my mom was my Vice Principal for two years, my English teacher for three, and my Spanish teacher for three. I couldn’t even THINK about getting into trouble… Not that I wanted to or anything.

After high school graduation, my college pursuits took me back to Natchitoches to Northwestern State University, where I earned my bachelor’s (Broadcast Journalism, English minor) and master’s degrees (Sports Administration). My career aspirations were all things sports, but the Lord had me on a different path. I just didn’t know it yet.

To make a long story short, the Lord put me where I needed to be and when I needed to be there. I’m happy to share that portion with you over a cup (or seven) of coffee sometime. Or we can grab lunch at Newk’s. Seriously… I love that place. I think I have a problem. Oh, and I’d love to get to know you better, too. 😉

Whenever I’m not spending time with my beautiful wife and daughters (born in 2018, 2020, and 2022), I still love watching and playing sports. My wife, however, could not care less about watching sports, so our marriage dynamic is quite interesting. I mean it. She couldn’t care less. She’s tried. No dice.

I’ve been asked to share what I love about working at this ministry. The list is so long, but there are a few aspects that stand out. The atmosphere is almost too good to be true. We have a rare combination at this ministry. Everyone is good at his/her job, but no one takes his/her job TOO seriously. We love to have fun, enjoy our jobs, and enjoy each other, not to mention the people we have the joy of serving. Everyone is servant-hearted and full of grace. The fruit of the Spirit is so evident.
